Tradition and depiction of the birth of Christ have changed again and again through the centuries. We want to discover some particularly beautiful pictures from different collections together. The digital format makes it easy to recognise even the smallest details of a museum picture.
As always, we will do this without art historical presuppositions, just on the basis of what is there for all to see. Your own sensations and perceptions are very much encouraged in this interactive format.
