Suggestion for the summer holiday
Last summer I explored the northern half of Schleswig-Holstein from Schleswig: from the Kiel Canal to the Danish border, from the North Sea to the fjords of the Baltic coast. From there I bring very specific cycling and walking tours as suggestions, which I send on request. Cycle with me to a Hallig and across the border to Denmark. Take a ferry with your bike across the idyllic Schlei. Walk across sandy headlands along the Baltic Sea and observe its many feathered inhabitants. There are also cycle paths waiting to be discovered on both sides of the Kiel Canal. At the same time, it is a region with cosy villages, flourishing farm gardens and plenty of history: Haithabu, one of the most important trading centres of the Vikings, and the Danewerk, the medieval border fortifications, are now World Heritage Sites.
