Sky observation for young and old
With Hubbie, the nephew of the Hubble telescope, who lives with me in the Bad Driburg observatory, we look at the sky hunter Orion, which hurries behind the sky hare every night with the Big Dog and the Little Dog. Sirius, the main star in the Big Dog, is even the origin of the "dog days" in summer and our present-day calendar. With thousands of times magnification, we marvel at gas nebulae and star clusters, planets and satellites that zoom across the sky in real time. I'll show you how to use a star chart, smartphone app and binoculars to find everything you're about to see on your PC.
