Individual journey on the Danube Cycle Route
With an excellent train connection, I arrived from Bad Driburg to Vienna, where my individual cycling tour through three countries began. It led me along the great river through a river landscape rich in history, past Roman excavation sites and castles of Austrian and Hungarian kings, impressive places of world cultural heritage. But I also passed very thought-provoking places: the disused buildings of the former entrance to the "Eastern Bloc" and memorial plaques for the Turkish wars of the 17th century.
