The far north of Europe in winter
Ride with me, the astronomer and globetrotter, crashing on an icebreaker through the frozen Baltic Sea and with sled dogs and reindeer through a deeply snow-covered landscape. In bitter cold, we stand at the North Cape and in wintry Hammerfest, experience a partial solar eclipse in Tromsö and spend the night in a glass igloo, marvelling again and again at the fascinating northern lights. Of course, we also visit Santa's post office at the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi. He even has a huge walk-in letterbox in Greenland from which he collects the Christmas presents for the children. I was there on a winter trip to Greenland.
