The "Bürgerliches Trauerspiel" is very well suited to introduce literature, contemporary history and Schiller's life story.
Friedrich Schiller: Kabale und Liebe (1784): Duty or free love, bourgeois honour versus aristocratic immorality, parental love versus striving for power, these are the conflicts that the young Friedrich Schiller shaped with great dramatic power in his play "Kabale und Liebe". This makes this "bourgeois tragedy" very well suited to presenting literature, contemporary history and life history in their contexts, and this is what Dr. Klaus Dautel's lecture aims to do. Schiller's relationship to the great Johann Wolfgang Goethe will also be discussed.
Our speaker Dr. Klaus Dautel taught German at the Hölderlin Grammar School in Nürtingen and is a board member and co-founder of the non-profit association "Zentrale für Unterrichtsmedien im Internet e. V. (ZUM.DE)".

Proceeds are donated

All proceeds from this event will be donated to art and cultural workers in Ukraine.
