The story of Europe's most famous archaeological monument in its uniquely preserved prehistoric environment
We switch live to our Stonehenge exhibition and take you on a journey through space and time. You will experience the dimensions of the inner stone circle with detailed 1:1 replicas. From two different (camera) perspectives, we present highlight finds from English and Westphalian archaeology as well as the latest research findings on the history of the stone circle and the surrounding landscape. Stonehenge is the monumental culmination of prehistoric architecture and engineering. It is part of a ritual landscape with thousands of years of history and parallels across Europe that are tangible even in our region. The exhibition is the first to reflect on the shaping of this cultural landscape by man.
